Wendy Marvin and her company, Matrix Roofing, have joined the No Roof Left Behind program.
The Vancouver – SW Washington Business Journal recently profiled Wendy about her efforts to give away a free roof to a local family in need. She tried unsuccessfully in the past to give away a roof and after a bad experience, she discovered the No Roof Left Behind (NRLB) program.
“Unfortunately, in that case the house got repossessed while the roof was getting put on,” Wendy told the newspaper. “We didn’t know what questions to ask about it at the time. It was a bit of a disaster.”
After that experience she decided to join the NLRB program, which allows community members to nominate people and then vote on who receives the roof. “I’ve been watching that entity for years,” Wendy said in the article. “We needed a more controlled way to do this, and this gives a mechanism for letting the community vote on who gets the roof.”
